Calvert Homeschool Methods and Beliefs

I admire parents who choose to homeschool their children. You have taken your child's education into your own hands to ensure your child is getting the best education possible. Of course parents want what is right for their child. If you have been searching different homeschool curriculum and are interested in Calvert Homeschool, this will help you make your decision.

What stood out to me about Calvert Homeschool is the fact that it seamlessly moves your child from one grade to another. Each new grade is simply a layer that builds upon the previous year. There are no big gaps or jumps like some other curriculum seem to make us go through. This is great because your child wont miss anything important as he or she moves along through the lessons.

Calvert Homeschool has been in homeschooling for 100 years. That is a great sign that they must on to something right to be able to stay in business that long. Actually, their main goal is to teach your child the lessons he or she needs to learn and have fun at the same.

If you like to be out and about a lot, you will love how portable Calvert Homeschool is. You can have class in your home office, in the back yard or at the local playground. This is a great way to keep children interested and motivated to learn. Taking 'field trips' is very easy with this curriculum.

I love that you don't have to come up with your own lesson plans. They have everything done for you and that saves a lot of time. All you have to do is teach your child from the scripted lessons, and follow the suggested lesson follow-ups and testing.

This is wonderful, especially in today's hectic world. Mothers or fathers have a friend at their side in the teaching manuals, which allow the parent to teach more effectively and efficiently.

Calvert Homeschool provides you with a list of materials, assignment summaries, and a place to make notes. This way, if you notice something specific that you need to go back over with your child, you can simply make a note of it, and return later or when it's convenient for you. This helps a lot for the busy parent who doesn't have much time.

One of my favorite things about the Calvert Homeschool curriculum is the great novels and literature that my children read. After we have read the novel together, we will discuss it and go over the content in addition to Calvert's assignments. This provides us with quality time as we discuss the ideas, events, and characters in the stories. All of this great stuff plus learning really equals success to your child.
